Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer

Job Summary

Supporting ongoing projects, the full-time remote Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer will manage the installation, testing, and implementation of new z/OS operating systems and software, while also handling maintenance, debugging, and technical inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain Mainframe Systems Infrastructure software, including z/OS and ISV products
• Resolve incidents and problems related to z/OS environments and system software
• Contribute to technical projects and communicate with vendors regarding system configurations and customizations

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a mainframe environment within a large enterprise or equivalent education and experience
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of z/OS installation and maintenance, including SMP/E
• Beginning knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, and Unix System Services (USS)
• Experience installing software within Unix System Services (USS)
