Senior Manager AI/ML Engineering

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership for AI platform execution, the full-time Senior Manager AI/ML Engineering will oversee a high-performing team, ensuring the secure and scalable delivery of AI services while working remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead AI platform execution and deployment across Payment Integrity and Optum Real, ensuring reliability and scalability
• Inspire and manage a team of AI/ML engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and setting clear development goals
• Design and deliver AI-powered solutions and workflows that address complex healthcare challenges and drive business value

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Science, or Analytics, with 3+ years in AI/ML engineering
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams of 5+ people
• Experience leading AI/ML projects from ideation to production delivery
• Technical expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
