Senior Manager, AI Safety Engineering

Job Summary

Building and leading a new engineering team, the full-time Senior Manager, AI Safety Engineering will hire and develop talent, oversee the Find, Validate, and Patch engineering roadmap, and foster collaboration across security and platform leadership in a remote or onsite environment.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow the founding engineering team
• Lead the delivery of the Find, Validate, and Patch engineering roadmap
• Collaborate with evaluation, security, and platform leadership to ensure cohesive operations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 12+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years managing engineering teams
• Experience guiding teams that build complex systems, such as distributed infrastructure, ML platforms, or security tooling
• Technical depth in weighing architecture and evaluation trade-offs in ML or systems software
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a developing program
