Senior Manager of Applications Development
Job Summary
Leading a team of developers in a full-time remote capacity, the Senior Manager of Applications Development will provide technical direction, oversee software delivery practices, and enhance annuity-business applications within the Retirement Division.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical direction to the engineering team while guiding the adoption of modern technologies
- Lead delivery across multiple projects, ensuring alignment of resources with business priorities and improving development processes
- Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent through effective coaching and career planning
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; high school diploma required
- 9+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years managing technical teams of 7+ software engineers
- Strong software engineering background with expertise in modern programming languages such as C#/.NET, TypeScript, or Python
- Experience with modern cloud architecture and engineering practices, particularly with AWS
- Practical experience managing APIs throughout their lifecycle and strong data management skills, including SQL and NoSQL databases
