Senior Manager of Safety Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a team of Safety Engineers, the full-time Senior Manager of Safety Engineering will develop and implement safety strategies for autonomous vehicle systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety strategies for autonomous system development, deployment, and maintenance based on ISO standards and industry best practices
• Collaborate with engineering teams to establish safety launch targets and manage the safety plan throughout the product lifecycle
• Train and mentor the development team on safety processes and ensure that safety confirmation measures are planned and executed

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• At least 10 years of experience in engineering or autonomous vehicle development
• Demonstrated experience in safety case management from conception to release
• Familiarity with ISO 8800, ISO 21448, and UL 4600 standards
• Experience in safety leadership roles within the autonomous vehicle industry
