Senior Managing Editor

Job Summary

Overseeing the editorial quality and production of educational curricula, the full-time Senior Managing Editor will manage a team of copyeditors, proofreaders, and content engineers in a remote environment, ensuring high-quality materials and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a team in a fast-paced publishing environment, ensuring editorial consistency and quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish workflows, schedules, and deliverables while managing contract work, budgets, and invoicing
• Track project progress, surface issues, and develop solutions, while staying current on accessibility and technical requirements

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Publishing, or a related field
• 8 years of editorial experience in educational publishing
• 5 years managing large, multi-dimensional projects and interdisciplinary teams
• Proficiency with project management software such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence
• Experience integrating AI tools and publishing workflows to enhance efficiency
