Senior Materials Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Materials Engineer to join a high-performing team focused on materials processing and supplier qualification for sodium-cooled fast reactors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical development of suppliers to enhance technology readiness of materials for the Natrium reactor core
• Develop material and process specifications for specialized materials and product forms
• Collaborate with suppliers and design teams to ensure product performance meets requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and processing of ferrous and nonferrous alloys
• Experience in developing requirements specifications and providing technical oversight of supplier projects
• Knowledge of nuclear reactor design impacts on materials is a plus
• Ability to work independently and solve technical problems
