Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Materials Engineer to join a high-performing team focused on materials processing and supplier qualification for sodium-cooled fast reactors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical development of suppliers to enhance technology readiness of materials and components for the Natrium reactor core
  • Develop material and process specifications for specialized materials and product forms
  • Coordinate technical reviews of supplier deliverables and assist with supplier audits per ASME NQA-1-2015
Required Qualifications and Education
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, including fabrication and thermomechanical processing of ferrous and nonferrous alloys
  • Experience developing requirements specifications and providing technical oversight of supplier projects
  • Knowledge of nuclear reactor design impacts on materials is a plus
  • Ability to work independently to solve technical problems
