Senior Mechanical Design Checker

Job Summary

To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Senior Mechanical Design Checker will create red-line markups of mechanical 2D engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and manufacturability in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and review red-line markups for mechanical 2D engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with international drafting standards
• Check drawings for fit, tolerancing, and manufacturability of various components, including sheet metal and machined parts
• Assist in developing tools for capturing markups and tracking changes while documenting best practices to reduce errors

Required qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in industrial machine design and/or automation systems
• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and experience with Inventor 3D, Mechanical Desktop, or SolidWorks
• Formal training or certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong knowledge of drafting standard specifications, including MIL-STD and ANSI Y14.5
• Ability to perform basic calculations for design verification
