Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design development of various reactor structures and components, the remote contract Senior Mechanical Engineer will create design solutions, ensure compliance with ASME Section III standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while preparing and reviewing design specifications and reports.

Key responsibilities

• Design solutions for reactor structures and components, ensuring compliance with ASME Section III standards
• Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for structural supports used in nuclear facilities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define design requirements and optimize component performance

Required qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 8 years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as 2 years, PhD as 4 years
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Deep understanding of structural and seismic design
• Experience with finite element stress analysis and modeling tools such as ANSYS
