Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly capable Senior Mechanical Systems Design Engineer - Fluid Systems for a 12+ month contract, who will design nuclear and industrial components, oversee vendor designs, and integrate hardware into overall system design within the energy and nuclear domain.

Key responsibilities

• Design nuclear and industrial components and systems from requirements through final design
• Provide oversight to vendors developing mechanical system designs for the Natrium reactor
• Coordinate and integrate analyses such as thermal, seismic, and structural into plant design delivery

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline and 10+ years of direct experience in mechanical systems
• Experience in supplier/contractor coordination and project management
• Background in high temperature and multi-discipline integration, particularly in nuclear handling or fluid systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in fluid and structural analysis
• Familiarity with quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
