Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design development of various reactor structures and components, the contract Senior Mechanical Engineer will work remotely, focusing on the design and analysis of ASME Section III and Section VIII vessels, while preparing design specifications and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB and Section VIII division 2 vessels
• Develop and maintain design specifications and qualification reports in compliance with nuclear codes and standards
• Collaborate with engineering teams and interface with quality and regulatory bodies to support audits and design reviews

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
• Minimum of six years of equipment/component design experience, or ten years for level 11, with relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and/or VIII division 2
• Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and mechanical analysis methods, particularly with ANSYS
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
