Job Summary

Joining a fast-paced engineering group, the part-time Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Writer will translate complex engineering specifications into user-friendly documentation, develop and maintain technical documents for radiation detection systems, and ensure compliance with Department of Defense standards.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex engineering specifications and system behaviors into accessible language while maintaining technical accuracy
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for radiation detection systems with minimal support
• Manage version control for technical documents and ensure compliance with DoD, Navy, and NIWC Pacific standards

Required qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, including system architectures and configuration management
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents
• Experience in technical writing and communication of complex ideas
