Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
Serving as the technical lead on power generation and heavy industrial projects, the contract Senior Mechanical Engineer will direct technical designs, manage project schedules, and oversee equipment specifications while working remotely with occasional visits to the Omaha, NE office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts on simple and combined cycle power generation projects, ensuring compliance with project and ASME standards
- Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages and conduct detailed technical bid evaluations
- Mentor junior staff and present technical insights to clients, vendors, and internal teams while developing job notes and technical scopes of work
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in power generation
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in mechanical design and equipment specification
- Familiarity with ASME codes and cost estimating
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers
