Job Summary
To support the design development of reactor structures and components, the contract Senior Mechanical Engineer - WA Licensed will work remotely, focusing on ASME Section III nuclear design, preparing design specifications and reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities
- Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB and Section VIII division 2 vessels
- Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, and qualification reports in compliance with nuclear codes and standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and regulatory bodies to support audits, design reviews, and code certification processes
Required qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
- Minimum of six years of equipment/component design experience, or ten years with relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
- Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and/or VIII division 2
- Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and commercial mechanical stress analysis tools, particularly ANSYS
- Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
