Senior Mechanical Engineer - WA Licensed

Job Summary

To support the design development of reactor structures and components, the contract Senior Mechanical Engineer - WA Licensed will work remotely, focusing on ASME Section III nuclear design, preparing design specifications and reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB and Section VIII division 2 vessels
• Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, and qualification reports in compliance with nuclear codes and standards
• Collaborate with internal teams and regulatory bodies to support audits, design reviews, and code certification processes

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
• Minimum of six years of equipment/component design experience, or ten years with relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and/or VIII division 2
• Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and commercial mechanical stress analysis tools, particularly ANSYS
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
