Job Summary
To support the design development of advanced nuclear reactor structures and components, the contract Senior Mechanical Engineer (WA Licensed) will work remotely, focusing on compliance with ASME Section III standards, preparing design specifications and reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design solutions for reactor structures and components, ensuring compliance with ASME Section III standards
- Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for structural supports used in nuclear facilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define design requirements and optimize component performance
Required qualifications
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as 2 years, PhD as 4 years
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Deep understanding of structural and seismic design
- Familiarity with CAD; SolidWorks preferred
