Senior Medical Coder Certification Required

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Medical Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent review of coding rules to ensure accurate coding and billing
• Utilize resources to identify appropriate medical codes and generate queries for unclear documentation
• Educate and mentor others to improve medical coding quality and resolve coding edits or denials

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
• Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, RHIT)
• 3+ years of coding experience in a healthcare setting
• Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, Modifiers & HCPCS coding guidelines
• Intermediate understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, and anatomy
