Senior Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Medical Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze complex inpatient, outpatient, and practitioner billing for medical appropriateness
• Assist management in daily operations and processes within the department
• Design and participate in the clinical and coding education of coders, negotiators, and physicians

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with completion of educational curriculum required for medical license or coding certification
• Current nursing certification or coding credential (CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIA/RHIT) required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in coding, medical procedure billing, or medical insurance auditing
• Extensive knowledge of inpatient/outpatient hospital billing and coding standards
• Experience with professional and facility contract interpretation and MS Office Suites
