Senior Mining Governance Expert

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Mining Governance Expert to provide technical support on mining law development and regulatory design in Liberia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advisory inputs on draft legislation and review mineral development agreement frameworks
• Support legal and regulatory reform activities related to mining governance
• Ensure alignment with international best practices in mining law and governance

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Core expertise in mining law and/or mining governance, with experience in low- or lower-middle-income countries in Africa
• Familiarity with social performance dimensions of mining governance, including local content provisions and community benefit-sharing
• Preferred background with institutions such as World Bank, IFC, or African Development Bank
• Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is essential; West Africa experience preferred
• Willingness to engage in short-term/intermittent work, including desk reviews and possible in-country missions
