Senior Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Mortgage Underwriter, this remote position will perform frontline underwriting for various mortgage products, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory standards while managing documentation and risk assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform frontline underwriting of mortgage loans across multiple production channels, including retail, wholesale, jumbo, and construction lending
• Review and analyze loan files to ensure compliance with agency, investor, and internal credit policy guidelines
• Communicate documentation gaps and risk factors to Client Relationship Managers and loan originators as necessary

Required qualifications

• Recent experience underwriting retail, wholesale, and jumbo mortgage loans within the past 6 months
• Experience with HELOC and construction lending products, including guideline interpretation and collateral review
• Strong working knowledge of DU, LP/AUS, FHA Connection, and Total Scorecard
• Proven ability to maintain quality and compliance in a high-volume originations fulfillment environment
• High attention to detail and a compliance-focused mindset
