Job Summary

To advance the capabilities of production-ready autonomous vehicles, the full-time Senior Motion Planning Engineer will develop motion control and trajectory optimization algorithms, lead design processes, and implement performance-critical software solutions, with the option to work remotely or in-office in Boston or Pittsburgh.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop state-of-the-art motion control and trajectory optimization algorithms for safe vehicle motion
  • Collaborate with teams on decision/behavior planning, prediction, and vehicle control to create integrated solutions
  • Mentor junior team members and create project proposals that drive long-term technical roadmaps
Required qualifications:
  • 3+ years of C++ software development experience
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with Model Predictive Control (MPC), motion planning, and vehicle dynamics
  • Understanding of numerical optimization algorithms and experience with optimization solvers
  • Past experience leading technical development on features from problem formulation to implementation
