Senior Network Automation Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Network Automation Engineer to enhance a Perl code base for network automation systems, manage technical debt, and build secure RESTful APIs in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the existing Perl code base and internal toolset
• Identify and reduce technical debt while improving platform performance and reliability
• Support junior engineers through code reviews and mentoring, promoting continuous learning

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience using Perl and frameworks like Mojolicious
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and knowledge of NoSQL datastores
• Proven experience in building backend services within web application ecosystems
• Ability to act as a technical lead for small projects, providing architectural guidance
• Experience maintaining scalable, secure REST APIs and knowledge of networking concepts like IP routing and MPLS
