Job Summary
To serve as the senior technical authority for secure network architecture and operations at a federal agency client, the full-time remote Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and continuously improve a Cisco-based enterprise network in alignment with Zero Trust principles and NIST cybersecurity standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, operate, and optimize Cisco-based network infrastructure for high availability and mission resilience
- Implement and maintain network security architecture aligned with NIST standards and Cisco security best practices
- Lead security assessments and compliance reviews while collaborating with cybersecurity and operations teams to enhance network security posture
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience with Cisco certifications
- Professional certifications in network engineering or cybersecurity maintained for a minimum of 5 years
- Experience designing and implementing NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-207 Zero Trust network architectures
- Expert-level proficiency with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall platforms
- 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role
