Leading digital coverage for PEOPLE's Current Events vertical, the full-time Senior News Editor will coordinate personality-focused national affairs coverage, manage daily and breaking news stories, and develop content strategies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Finding, overseeing, assigning, and editing a large volume of stories daily while collaborating with the legal team
- Strategizing coverage, making assignments, and overseeing execution based on editorial calendars and data analytics
- Writing as needed and overseeing the digital footprint during large-scale event coverage
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a high-volume digital news operation with proven leadership experience
- Strong understanding of SEO and analytics
