Job Summary
Providing technical leadership in a remote capacity, the full-time Senior Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer will develop, review, and approve nuclear criticality safety evaluations for HALEU fuel operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and approve nuclear criticality safety evaluations (NCSEs) for fuel fabrication, handling, storage, and transportation
- Establish and validate criticality safety limits and controls for HALEU systems
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including safety analyses and safety evaluation reports
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related discipline (Master's or Ph.D. preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in nuclear criticality safety or reactor physics
- Demonstrated experience leading complex NCSEs in regulated nuclear facilities
- Proficiency with neutronics analysis tools such as MCNP or SCALE
- Strong understanding of NRC regulations and ANSI/ANS-8 standards
