Job Summary
To support advanced nuclear energy projects, the contract Senior Nuclear Engineer will design and analyze spent fuel pool systems and dry cask storage equipment while working remotely and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design spent fuel pool systems and dry cask storage equipment, developing engineering deliverables such as drawings and specifications
- Lead design reviews and provide system design input, ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements and engineering standards
- Oversee fabrication, testing, and delivery of fuel handling systems, coordinating with various engineering teams and managing vendor interfaces
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, particularly with nuclear fuel handling systems or high-performance engineered systems
- Experience with mechanical system design and engineering analyses in regulated environments
- Familiarity with quality assurance programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within teams
