Senior Optimization Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Forecasting and Optimization Engineer will develop and enhance energy forecasting models and optimization algorithms, design production-grade code, and translate large datasets into actionable insights for the electricity industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve accurate energy forecasting models and control algorithms
• Design, write, test, and deploy production-grade code for forecasting and optimization products
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to translate data insights for electric utilities and energy industry stakeholders

Required qualifications

• At least five years of experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, or mathematical optimization
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and scientific/machine learning tools (e.g., Pandas, Numpy, TensorFlow)
• Experience developing data pipelines using large-scale relational databases
• Ability to derive insights from large, complex datasets
• Passion for enabling a carbon-free, distributed energy future
