Senior Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Providing operational support and leadership for coding workflows, the full-time remote Senior Outpatient Coder will oversee coding quality, auditing, and staff education while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations for assigned outpatient coding workflows and provide direct support to Coding Management
• Maintain coding accuracy and monitor coder productivity, offering feedback and coaching as needed
• Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations

Required qualifications

• CCS Credential, RHIT, or RHIA certification
• 5-10 years of progressive HIM coding management experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Extensive knowledge of OPPS, IPPS, UHDDS, and official coding guidelines
• Experience with Revenue Cycle Operations, including acute care coding
• Proficiency in 3M 360 software
