Senior Patching Engineer

Job Summary

Leading patch strategy and vulnerability management in a remote contract-to-hire position, the Senior Patching Engineer will manage the end-to-end patching lifecycle for federal environments, ensuring compliance with federal standards and providing guidance to junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own patch strategy and monitor vulnerability sources, including federal advisories and databases
• Manage the full patching lifecycle, including identification, testing, deployment, and audit maintenance
• Perform post-deployment validation to verify system functionality and security posture

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in patch management or vulnerability engineering in a federal environment
• Hands-on experience with enterprise patching tools such as SCCM, RedHat Satellite, and IBM BigFix
• Experience with Windows and Linux platforms in large-scale endpoint environments
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Prior or current Public Trust clearance
