Senior Patching Engineer

Job Summary

Leading patch strategy and vulnerability management in a remote contract-to-hire role, the Senior Patching Engineer will manage the end-to-end patching lifecycle, ensuring compliance with federal standards while utilizing enterprise patching tools across Windows and Linux platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own patch strategy and monitor vulnerability sources, including federal advisories and databases
• Lead image development and maintenance, coordinating mitigations when vendor patches are unavailable
• Perform post-deployment validation to verify system functionality and security posture

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in patch management or vulnerability engineering in a federal environment
• Hands-on experience with SCCM, RedHat Satellite, and IBM BigFix
• Experience operating across Windows and Linux platforms in large-scale endpoint environments
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Prior or current Public Trust clearance
