Senior Payments Architect

Job Summary

Providing best-fit architectural solutions for payment projects, the full-time Senior Payments Architect will design and develop complex features, lead integrations with payment service providers, and ensure compliance with technology standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reference architecture for the payments platform, including service boundaries and data flows
• Design systems prioritizing correctness, resilience, and security for payment processing
• Collaborate with product and finance teams to translate commercial and regulatory requirements into technical designs

Required qualifications

• Substantial experience architecting production payment systems at meaningful transaction volumes
• Deep understanding of the payments lifecycle, including authorization, settlement, and reconciliation
• Practical experience integrating with external payment infrastructures such as card processors or gateways
• Hands-on experience with payment orchestration platforms and security compliance standards like PCI DSS
• Ability to lead through influence and align multiple teams on shared architectural directions
