Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

Leading biweekly payroll processing for U.S. salaried and hourly employees, the full-time Senior Payroll Specialist will manage the entire U.S. payroll cycle, including equity-related payroll, while collaborating with HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure accurate and compliant payroll operations in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end biweekly U.S. payroll processing, including daily payroll cycles for non-qualified stock options
• Drive timely resolution of employee payroll inquiries and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
• Support continuous process improvements by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains in payroll workflows

Required qualifications:

• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and expertise in federal, state, and local tax compliance
• Proven experience processing payroll for employee populations receiving equity compensation
• Hands-on proficiency with payroll platforms (e.g., UKG Pro, Workday HCM) in a high-volume environment
• Track record of resolving complex payroll issues independently with documented process improvement outcomes
• Fluency with cloud-native data environments (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and their governance capabilities
