Senior Planning Engineer

Job Summary

To support the growth of Metro Core transport networks, the remote Senior Planning Engineer will manage capacity planning, optimization, and network augmentation while collaborating with various teams to ensure reliability and performance objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute capacity plans for Metro Core and local IOF transport networks
• Analyze network performance data to initiate augmentations and prevent capacity issues
• Lead optimization efforts and manage network build orders in partnership with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Architecture, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in transport network planning or telecommunications network design
• Strong knowledge of DWDM, optical transport, and Metro Core architectures
• Experience managing network build orders and optimization activities
• Familiarity with Wave Path Trending, TID Review processes, and regulatory planning efforts
