Senior Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the observability and incident response capabilities, the full-time Senior Platform Engineer will architect and implement a modern observability stack while working remotely, focusing on logging, metrics, and tracing patterns that support the entire engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy a scalable logging, metrics, and APM stack while establishing best practices for agent configuration
• Evaluate and select incident management platforms, develop alerting policies, and create runbooks for incident response
• Automate manual tasks in incident response, build self-service tools, and codify monitoring as infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or a similar infrastructure role
• Deep expertise in at least one observability domain (metrics, logging, tracing, or APM)
• Experience with agent configuration and instrumentation tools (New Relic, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent)
• Proven track record of building monitoring and alerting systems
• Strong systems thinking with an understanding of tradeoffs in architecture decisions
