Senior Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Championing developer experience in a fully remote capacity, the full-time Senior Platform Engineer will design, build, and maintain the federated GraphQL gateway and authentication services while enhancing tooling and workflows for internal developers.
Key responsibilities
- Champion developer experience and enablement by establishing architecture patterns, runtime tooling, workflows, and documentation for the federated gateway
- Measure and improve developer experience by gathering feedback, tracking adoption of platform tooling, and removing friction points
- Design, build, and maintain resilient systems, including the federated GraphQL gateway and gRPC services, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development and operating production services at scale
- Deep understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript, with strong experience in Node.js and service-to-service APIs such as gRPC
- Experience building and operating federated GraphQL gateways using Federation v2, including subgraph design and schema composition
- Strong experience in building observability into APIs and optimizing systems for speed and latency
- Good understanding of authentication systems and protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML
