Senior PLC Design Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior PLC Design Engineer will lead the independent design and development of PLC-based control systems for industrial and building automation applications, ensuring the delivery of accurate design packages while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of PLC-based control systems, including control panel layouts and wiring diagrams
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure successful execution and resolve design conflicts
• Perform QA/QC reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and workflows

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
• Expert-level understanding of PLC-based control systems and industrial networks
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, UL 508A)
• 5+ years of experience in controls design or industrial automation
