Senior PostgreSQL DBA

Job Summary

Supporting and optimizing enterprise-level PostgreSQL databases in AWS environments, the contract Senior PostgreSQL DBA will manage database administration, troubleshoot production incidents, and design scalable architectures while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL databases in AWS RDS and Aurora environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve production database incidents and client-reported issues independently
• Design and implement scalable, highly available database architectures and manage deployment, migration, upgrades, and patching activities

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of DBA experience with a strong focus on PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience supporting PostgreSQL databases in AWS environments
• Strong experience with Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL performance tuning and query optimization
• Experience managing connection pooling and concurrency strategies
