Senior Power Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Serving as the primary Subject Matter Expert for transmission planning and generation interconnection, the full-time Senior Power Systems Engineer will lead advanced power system studies, collaborate with software engineers to automate workflows, and mentor team members while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform complex transmission planning and generation interconnection studies across multiple North American markets
• Act as the technical authority for large-scale generation and load interconnection requests, ensuring compliance with RTO/ISO requirements
• Collaborate with software engineers to translate engineering workflows into automated tools and validate their outputs

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems; Master's or PhD preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in transmission planning and interconnection studies
• Proven experience with PSSE, TARA, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP, and PowerWorld
• Proficiency in Python for workflow automation and scripting
• Deep knowledge of traditional generation and integration challenges of Inverter-Based Resources (IBR)
