Senior Principal AI Engineer

Job Summary

As the most senior individual-contributor engineer, the full-time Senior Principal AI Engineer will own the technical vision for AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) enablement at enterprise scale, leading complex AI initiatives and establishing standards for model training, orchestration, and responsible AI within a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the multi-year technical vision and enterprise standards for AIaaS while acting as the final technical authority for challenging AI problems
• Define and own the enterprise model-training strategy, including hands-on training and evaluation of AI/ML models and LLMs
• Architect the orchestration layers of the central AI system and establish standards for data sourcing, governance, and retrieval systems

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years in AI/ML software engineering with demonstrated impact at the Senior Principal level delivering production AI at enterprise scale
• Hands-on mastery of training and fine-tuning AI/ML models and LLMs, including distributed training and evaluation
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and large-scale data pipelines
• Proven ability to design developer platforms, APIs, and multi-agent orchestrations relied upon by multiple teams
• Expertise with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and a track record of optimizing AI workloads for cost and performance
