Job Summary
Leading the design and deployment of AI/ML-powered solutions, the full-time Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams remotely to deliver innovative technology, influence product direction, and mentor engineering talent.
Key responsibilities
- Code across the entire Atlassian product suite, contributing to broad engineering initiatives
- Architect and implement application integrations using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages, focusing on APIs and microservices
- Champion AI-augmented workflow automation within customer environments to maximize operational efficiency
Required qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in backend software development, with at least 5 years in a principal/staff-level role
- 5+ years of experience delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in production environments
- Deep expertise in applied AI/ML, including generative AI and agent-based frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages, and experience with APIs and enterprise integration
- Experience with AI risk assessment, data privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR)
