Senior Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Software Engineer, this full-time remote position will lead the design and evolution of centralized systems supporting shared workflows across product lines, requiring hands-on coding and strategic architectural decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of shared, centralized systems that support workflows across lines of business
• Develop a unified systems architecture strategy and facilitate technical decision-making regarding system consolidation and modernization
• Build prototypes and reference implementations while diving into code to optimize performance and guide complex integrations

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with distributed systems or large-scale SaaS products, with expert Java skills
• 5+ years in a Technical Leadership role, driving design decisions for engineering teams
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and cloud-native architecture, including infrastructure as code experience
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and reliability engineering
• Experience with security in architecture decisions, including secure design patterns and compliance considerations
