Senior Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and evolution of centralized systems, the full-time Senior Principal Software Engineer will actively code and collaborate with engineering teams to develop a unified architecture strategy while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of shared systems that support workflows across business lines and create technical specifications for system reliability
• Develop a unified systems architecture strategy and facilitate technical decision-making regarding system consolidation and modernization
• Build prototypes and guide teams through complex integrations while influencing architectural recommendations to senior leadership

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with distributed systems or large-scale SaaS products, with expert Java skills
• 5+ years in a Technical Leadership role driving design decisions for engineering teams
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and cloud-native architecture, with experience in infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and reliability engineering
• Experience evaluating legacy systems and proposing modernization strategies
