Job Summary
Serving as a primary legal advisor on US and global privacy laws, the full-time Senior Privacy Counsel (State Licensed) will manage compliance initiatives, develop privacy programs, and provide legal guidance on privacy and AI-related issues while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the global subject matter expert on US privacy laws and provide guidance on global privacy frameworks
- Help develop and implement Coursera and Udemy's global privacy program, including policies, tools, and training
- Support stakeholders on complex privacy and AI issues, offering pragmatic and risk-based legal solutions
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one US state bar with 8+ years of legal experience
- Experience advising on US privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA, and knowledge of GDPR and global privacy frameworks
- Experience implementing and maintaining aspects of a global privacy compliance program
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and resolve complex privacy issues with sound judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal counsel
