Job Summary

Managing complex publishing projects, the full-time salaried Senior Production Editor will oversee the editorial production process from manuscript to final files, ensuring high-quality standards while collaborating with various departments in a hybrid or remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the editorial production of high-profile publishing projects, managing schedules and critical milestones
• Coordinate copyediting, proofreading, and final production readiness while ensuring quality assurance before manufacturing
• Mentor Production Editors and identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and publishing experience
• 8+ years of experience in publishing operations or production editorial
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Deep understanding of editorial production workflows, including quality assurance and manufacturing readiness
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; experience with publishing workflow systems preferred
