Senior Program Director, Communications

Job Summary

To enhance strategic communications, the full-time Senior Program Director, Communications will develop and execute media strategies, build relationships with journalists, and translate organizational priorities into compelling narratives while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to create and implement earned media strategies that align with organizational goals
• Build infrastructure for in-house media capabilities and manage communications consultants to advance media relations efforts
• Develop clear messaging for external audiences and prepare spokespeople for media engagements

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in communications, particularly in earned media and public relations
• Proven ability to develop proactive media strategies and respond to shifting priorities
• Strong track record of maintaining relationships with journalists and media professionals
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for diverse audiences
• Experience managing staff and external partners to achieve communication goals
