Senior Proposal Development Specialist

Job Summary

Providing pre-award support to faculty and postdoctoral fellows, the full-time remote Senior Proposal Development Specialist will manage proposal development, including budget preparation and submission for federal and non-federal funding opportunities, while also overseeing proposal specialists within their cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the development and submission of research proposals for grants and collaborative opportunities
• Lead training and oversight for proposal specialists in the assigned cluster
• Ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional regulations throughout the proposal process

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in academic research administration
• Expertise in electronic grants submissions through Grants.gov and similar portals
• Knowledge of various sponsored research funding mechanisms, including federal and non-federal agencies
• Proficiency with financial systems and budgeting, particularly in Excel
• Familiarity with federal funding guidelines (2 CFR 200, FAR, etc.)
