Job Summary
A company is looking for a Senior Public Benefit Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and determine eligibility for uninsured/under-insured patients for state Medicaid benefits or financial assistance programs
- Communicate with patients to gather necessary documents for application submissions
- Document actions and communications in patient accounting systems and maintain relationships with Medicaid caseworkers
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with hospital financial issues
- Understanding of revenue cycle processes including admissions, billing, payments, and denials
- Knowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verification
- High School Diploma or GED; relevant post-secondary education and experience may be considered
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company paid)
