Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Python Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services using Python 3.12+, FastAPI, and gRPC on GCP
• Develop complex payment flows and ensure infrastructure reliability and security in a SOC 2 Type II environment
• Raise code quality standards through high-leverage code reviews and documentation

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building backend systems in production with deep Python expertise
• Prior startup experience with an understanding of balancing speed to market and architectural perfection
• Proven architectural judgment with experience in APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native infrastructure (GCP preferred)
• Experience handling sensitive data, including PII and payments, with a security-minded approach
• A builder's mindset with a focus on writing maintainable code and refactoring legacy systems
