Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

To build and evolve core systems for Fliff's sports data platform, the remote contract Senior Python Engineer will design and maintain Python services for data ingestion, integrate with third-party providers, and ensure data quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion, transformation, and distribution
• Integrate with third-party sports data providers and manage differences in models and formats
• Improve data validation, monitoring, and system observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of strong production experience with Python
• Experience designing and operating backend services in production
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and data pipelines
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Experience integrating with external APIs or third-party data providers
