Senior Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of Fliff's sports data platform, the remote contract Senior Python Engineer will design and maintain Python services for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion and distribution
• Integrate with third-party sports data providers and manage differences in data formats
• Improve data validation, monitoring, and system observability while investigating production issues

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with Python
• Experience designing and operating backend services in production
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and data pipelines
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and debugging production systems
